BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

Muktsar is a flourishing town and a district headquarters which derives its name from Chali Muktas (Forty Martyrs) who sacrificed their lives in the famous battle of Khidrana in 1705. Bawa Nihal Singh B.Ed. college is in the very heart of the city, Sri Muktsar Sahib. This college has been established in 2006 by keeping in mind the ideology and vision of Bawa Nihal Singh to educate the mass of rural region of Punjab. This college has been running the B.Ed. course with 150 seats per unit successfully with excellent result in academics and other activities. Although the former chairperson Bawa Gurmeet Singh is not with us even the seed he had sown is continuously shedding its fruits under the able supervision of Smt. Gurmeet Singh Bawa. Bawa Nihal Singh College of Education, Sri Muktsar Sahib, BNS Residency, Kota, Rajasthan, Bawa Nihal Singh Private ITI, SAS Nagar are the sister concerns which are running under the same management.

The mission of the college is to develop the intellectual and creative faculties of our pupil teachers to enable them not only to withstand the changes in the field of education but also to lead by innovative initiatives.
